Hi from us!

Hi there - thanks for calling by.

If you've found Zenith Classic Rock and stayed listening then obviously you kinda like what you're hearing - which is a Good Thing.

But there must be stuff we're not playing that you think we should, and maybe there's stuff on our playlist that you think is pants - whichever way around, please let us know.

We've got about 2,000 songs on the playlist right now and have access to practically anything in the Classic Rock genre you can think of. We're only human, we can't think of everything!

Cya!

Exellent station and stream quailty.

A few broad suggestions regarding music - more loud stuff! I have in mind Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, Deep Purple (and extended family).

Also some 60s "West Coast" - Love, Spirit, Doors etc.

Anonymous said...

Hi Mike, thanks for the comment. We have I think two 'Love' tracks on, both from the excellent 'Forever Changes' album.

There are about 4 BOC tracks, maybe 5 Rush, and a few DPs.

And I think just one Spirit track!

You're right, I'll get some more of those on soon.

Cheers!

Well impressed.

We second the motion for more Love, and suggest it be accompanied by copious amounts of Creedence.

About 20 extra tracks added today, incl. some more Rush!

Oh My God I'd forgotten about Vanilla Queen by Golden Earring, havn't heard that in years! One of the most amazing tracks ever, up there with Inna Gadda Da Vida!

Where else would you hear that?

From "Spirit" - Fresh Garbage, Topanga Windows.

From "The Family that Plays Together" - I Got a Line on You, Its All the Same

Hope that helps

Anyway...Sounds great....really enjoyed the Abc memories this afternoon...fantastic to hear from Tony Murell...and of course Clive and Kerry And of course Dave Hunt + Andy Ellis...who made a comeback that Butch Cassidy + The sundance kid would be proud of...keep it up..this is the kinda of radio I would listen to 24/7..

PS. any chance of "Dream Weaver"?

Seamus Foley(Shay Searson)

Not Dreamweaver please ;)

Heard bits of todays radio broadcast (noises off!) I missed "old gits remember the old days" stuff unfortunatly. Maybe a repeat could be arranged.

Anonymous said...

Well you might hear Dreamweaver I'm afraid, plus a few other Gary Wright tracks.

Glad you enjoyed today - especially good to hear from Shay, as an ex-ABC presenter!

Hi guys,

Heard about this a few weeks ago but forgot and now I've been reminded via the Radiowaves site I'll tune in this weekend, hopefully it's fully receivable in Wexford town.

Best of luck and hopefully a permanent licence may be in the offing.

Makes a change from Classic Rock on the satellite.

Brilliant to hear from you Andy and Andy and Clive... Took me a while to comment, but have been enjoying the station both at home on my wifi radio and in the car via 3G mobile phone and FM TX ! Listening this morning on my way home from my breakfast shift on Radio Jackie!

All the best, and much more hopefully.

Why hasn't anyone told me about this station sooner? Its frikkin awesome! Feels like i'm back in the states again, where the radio stations play real music and real variety NOT the same 10 "classic" rock tunes torn from a rock compilation from 1990! What the hell am i supposed to do the rest of the week by the way???

Just to let you guys know, picked up 1584 under the sky wave at midnight last night and on the ground wave - weak but just discernable at 10.30am today in Bodmin, Cornwall (at around that time you were playing a classic Peter Frampton song!). Can I have a QSL please? (only joking!)

Keep up the good work, listening on the net when I can.

Geoff Rogers - now back in Walton-on-Thames (having returned from holiday in Cornwall this afternoon!)

Geoff Rogers said...

You probably know this but the 64k stream appears to not be working and hasn't for several days.

AAC sounds good still though - enjoying the music on Sat afternoon on wifi radio in Walton, Surrey, UK

Anonymous said...

Hey guys, its funny- you ask for particular tracks and we play them BEFORE we read the posts! We must be telepathic!
Little Feat, Family, Lynyrd - you'll hear 'em all next weekend on our last broadcasts.
Great to hear from you all, especially those we haven't spoken to in years, Geoff for example.

Webstreams continue, hopefully we'll be back on air sometime.

A nice polite letter to the BCI might help our cause guys!

Cheers

Very good, nice to hear something different on the radio in this region
if you get a full license you may consider some genre shows that are not being considered elsewhere alt rock, jazz, world, etc. I know you want classic rock but to survive you'll need more then classic rock fans support

Wayne P said...

Hi Guys,

Great to hear all the old classics again, some of those tracks reminds me of a miss spent youth hanging around the jukebox in an amusement arcade in Tramore ;)

..best of luck for the future!!

Hello Guys. Enjoying 'Dave Hunt' and 'Andy Ellis' playing some fine music, which continues to take me back to the days of 'Southern Radio' and the summer of '85 when I was lucky enough to 'play along' for a few shows in Waterford with you guys. Please keep the webstreams going, they sound fab in the car via the mobile and at home on the wifi radio - and it'd be great to have some occasional live shows here even when you're not onf FM and AM, as it's such an emerging medium.

My very best regards to you, your other halves and to Bruce Wayne as well.

From Geoff and Lin in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, UK.

I only stumbled across your radio broadcast when I was on my way up to Dublin, only to hear that the next day would be your last time on the air.

You guys have a fantastic station, I enjoyed listening to you driving home on Sunday, receiving you loud and clear in Waterford. I was just listening to your final moments on the air, I would hope you guys could keep 'broadcasting' on the web streams, you have earned yourself another listener.

I plan to write to the BCI, hopefully they will come to their senses and issue a well needed licence for the South East. We need a station like yours.

Anonymous said...

Again thanks for nice comments folks. It was a bit emotional doing the last show!

Thanks also to anyone who writes to or emails the BCI on our behalf;

Could you do me a favour please and send me copies of any replies you get?

Either by email or by post? It'll help us keep track, and might be able to use the correspondance as part of our case to get a licence.

We're gonna try get some old shows replayed on the web, plus the Top 50 in its entirety will appear on the webstreams soon.

Bye for now!

Guys we've started a facebook group, search for Zenith Classic Rock.

Let's keep the idea alive and push for Zenith to be given another licence!

This is a long shot

at about 22.45 on Saturday 7th a track which might have been called Lifeline was played, who's it by? I taped it off Caroline years back but never caugh the name - and its been driving me a bit mad ever since!

Andy L said...

Lifeline is by Rabbit - a group including Trevor Rabin.

Great track!

great sounds for driving home in fact I drove the long way home on purpose last sunday so I could continue listening how about a bit of old hawkwind, captain lockheed and the star fighters

How sad Ireland is without decent music on the airwaves. What are the BCI scared of?
Is it true that the BCI is run by the other radio stations with licences ? I dont believe the argument that there are no available frequencies .
Something smells rotten.
